SCRA is delighted to see that work to transform language in the Children’s Hearings System is continuing to gain support.

In May, the fabulous Articulate Animation was launched, which was co-written, designed and voiced by Board Members from Our Hearings, Our Voice.

We are extremely proud to be part of this joint initiative with Our Hearings, Our Voice and Children’s Hearings Scotland.

The short film – made by Braw Talent – brings to life the importance of language in the Children’s Hearings System. The animation stems from the work of the Language Leaders.

Everyone involved is delighted by the response to the animation, which has been shared at large conferences in Scotland run by CYCJ, Children in Scotland, Each and Every Child and the National Leadership Network.

Now, Our Hearings, Our Voice has been asked to include Articulate in online training delivered to education staff by Education Scotland and to multi-agency staff by NHS Education for Scotland.

If you would like to learn more about this journey, please read the latest update on the Children’s Hearings Improvement Partnership website or blog on the Our Hearings, Our Voice website, which incorporates the voices of the young people involved, on how changing language will change both practice and organisational culture.

In case you missed it, you can also read our own Language that Cares guide that was developed from the Language Leaders work.
