Hearings System working group gets started
The recently established Hearings System Working Group met for the first time on Monday 6 September.
The Hearings System Working Group – a partnership between SCRA, Children’s Hearings Scotland and The Promise Scotland – will facilitate a redesign of the Children’s Hearings System. The voice and views of people with lived experience of the system will be at the heart of the redesign process.
The first meeting, which was led by independent Chair, David Mackie, looked at key areas of focus and initial priorities.
SCRA is represented on the group by our Head of Practice and Policy, Alistair Hogg and Suzie Vestri, Board Member.
Speaking after the first meeting, Alistair said: “It was a very positive and productive meeting. We are only getting started and this is a 10 year journey, so there’s lots of work ahead.
“We look forward to working with our own staff, who bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm, as well as our partners and most importantly, people with lived experience of the Children’s Hearings Systen. Their voice will be at the heart of everything we do.”
